Rules of Video Poker

Video Poker is like a simplified game of poker since the rules are very simple. The player will be dealt with cards from a 52-deck randomly shuffled cards. To win on a game of Video Poker, the player must receive the highest card poker hand (you will need to only have 5 cards left). Winning in Poker depends entirely on the type of Poker you are playing.

In Video Poker, you are playing against a computer or a machine. There will be no more extra hand in Video Poker. Therefore, you should not worry since there's nobody else in the game to strike your cards.

To start the game of Video Poker, the player settles on the bet to make. Once done, the player clicks on the "draw/deal" button such that the machine will draw five cards. In Video Poker, the player will know if he has won as it is usually seen on the pay schedule on the monitor. If not, the player may need to hold or discard some cards. The player must push the "hold" button if he decides to keep a card. The settings in Video Poker vary so the player must first need to familiarize himself before playing.

Remember that in Video Poker, the cards the player decides not to hold are automatically replaced with new cards. Like in ordinary Poker Games, The value of cards in Video Poker is determined according to what game is being played. For instance, if the player has two jacks, he will be paid in a game of Jacks or Better - another modified Video Poker Game.

Video Poker also gives the player the chance to double his winnings. After a Video Poker game is won, the player may decide to "collect" or to "double" his winnings. These two options in other Video Poker gaming rooms are often highlighted in the screen. If the player decides to collect his winnings, he must click on the collect button. If he wants to win some more, the player pushes the "double" button.

The Video Poker machine will then deal another set of five cards. One of the five cards of the Dealer will be exposed. The player will hold one of the unexposed card. If the card the player is holding is higher than the dealer's exposed card, the player wins. Another option will be presented if the players opt to double or collect winnings. In Video Poker, if there is a tie, no payout is made.
